The Boyd/Loughran Fund was established in 2015 in honor of Joseph Boyd III and John Loughran, with the goal of improving safety and communication processes for the outside electrical industry. The Advisory Committee is offering financial assistance to workers interested in obtaining training and education in the fields of line construction project management and/or safety.
ELIGIBILITY: All IBEW Local 104 members in good standing are eligible to apply. Any applicable certification training, as well as tuition and/or course material cost as part of an associate, bachelor, or post-graduate program are open for consideration.
SELECTION OF WINNERS: Each year, a number of awards will be made on an as-needed basis. Applicants that demonstrate leadership potential and a desire to use their education for the betterment of the outside electrical industry are the most likely to receive an award. While there is no deadline for submission, awards are based on availability of funds and all scholarships are limited to direct program costs, unless otherwise specified.
