Two media outlets are reporting that the Northern Pass hydroelectric project, which is proposed by Northeast Utilities, is moving forward.
IBEW Local 104 supports Northern Pass because, among other reasons, the Northern Pass Project to build transmission lines that will bring clean, affordable hydroelectric power into New Hampshire will create jobs … and Local 104 members from NEW HAMPSHIRE and all over New England will be able to fill many of those positions.
This is why Local 104 was pleased to hear NH Public Radio report on July 31 that “Northern Pass is making progress buying land for its new route through northern Coos and still hopes to file that plan with the U.S. Department of Energy by the end of the year.” To read the full story, click here: Northern Pass Says It Is Getting Closer To Final Route
The Union Leader also reported on July 1, “Northeast Utilities investors were told … that it appears the Northern Pass proposed hydro-power transmission route through New Hampshire will be finalized this fall, but if not, the expected completion date of the project would move from 2016 to 2017.” To read the full story, click here: NU expects Northern Pass route to be identified this fall.
